(Work) The Woohoo Box invades Ipoh

The BRANDTHINK team was in Ipoh on June 12, 2010 to officially launch IT World Ipoh Parade, Apple’s latest reseller in Ipoh, Malaysia. The new store opened its doors for the first time to the public and treated customers with the signature Woohoo! box giveway for the first 100 customers.

Special guest, Jack Lim, DJ with My.fm gave the crowd many reasons to be excited about as he rallied and entertained the crowd during the opening ceremony.

For the launch, our team was tasked with experimenting with a new marketing technique. The main highlight to our viral campaign was the use of “ExtremeBudget”, a lower than low-budget technique of creating viral videos to promote the event. The team had only the use of a compact digital camera, an iPhone, iMovie software on the iMac and less than 6 hours to create the movie. The result was a quick, silly video that is easily shared across social media networks such as Facebook, Twitter and YouTube.

Ipoh experienced a wave of energy and excitement never seen before with other brands and the event drew an amazing crowd, the earliest arriving as early as 2am!

We even witnessed the world’s first marriage proposal using a Woohoo! box.

The IT World launch is part of an on-going campaign created to increase hype and excitement over the Apple brand in Malaysia with activities that include the DiscoveryWeek roadshows, the DiscoveryWeek social media campaign and the Woohoo! box events.

(Event) Cortina Watch official launch at Suria KLCC

On the afternoon of 1st of April, Cortina Watch reached another significant milestone as it celebrated its fourth boutique opening in the iconic Suria KLCC in Malaysia with a big bang. The celebration saw the attendance of a few prominent VIPs, business partners of Cortina Watch and members of the Malaysian press.

The afternoon started with a warm welcome by emcee Elaine Daly who announced the arrival of the distinguished guest of honor, Dato’ Dr. Ong Hong Peng Secretary General, Ministry of Tourism Malaysia. Soon after, welcome speeches were given by Mr. Teh Soon Kheng General Manager of Cortina Watch Malaysia and Dato’ Dr. Ong Hong Peng.

The afternoon proceeded with a ribbon cutting ceremony which was performed by Dato’ Dr. Ong Hong Peng, Mr. Teh Soon Kheng and Mr. Jeremy Lim, Regional General Manager of Cortina Watch. Immediately after, guests were treated to an exhilarating performance by the exuberant Khuan Loke Association Lion Dance Group.

Guests continued to mingle with each other amongst an unbounded flow of champagne and canapés as they admired the featured timepieces in the boutique.

Regional General Manager of Cortina Watch, Jeremy Lim says, “We are thrilled to be amongst some of the finest international brands here at the iconic shopping arcade of Kuala Lumpur. Over the years, our focus has always been a one stop luxury timepiece provider and this is the experience we want to give to our valued customers”.

He added, “we are also indeed very honored to have Dato’ Dr. Ong Hong Peng grace our launch this afternoon. With our boutique being situated in the Golden Triangle we certainly hope that the expansion will contribute in driving the tourism industry in Malaysia”

(Work) The MacStudio BSC Launch

In conjunction with the opening of MacStudio, a new Apple Premium Reseller outlet in Bangsar Shopping Centre, BRANDTHINK created the WooHoo! Box and gave it away to the first 100 guests. The WooHoo! Box is set to provide instant happiness for the receiver as it contains exclusive Apple merchandise or for the lucky few, an iPod nano or iPod Shuffle!

The event is opened to members of the public and took place at Level 1 of Bangsar Shopping Centre, Kuala Lumpur from 2.00pm – 5.00pm. The new outlet was unveiled for the very first time to the public on launch day, and feature a completely new retail look for Apple resellers in Malaysia.

BRANDTHINK was tasked with creative duties, media buying, event management of the launch and the creation of high impact ideas to generate interest in the new store. This resulted in an afternoon that filled an otherwise serene Bangsar Shopping Centres with Apple fans.

More than 150 people joined the queue for the WooHoo! box, and many more joined in the celebration and fun in the hours after the official unveiling of the store.

Chandon and Green Point, brands under Moet Hennessy Estates & Wines treated special guests to an exclusive dinner on the 28th September 2009. Hosted by Bernie Wood, Estate Director of Domaine Chandon Australia, guests were treated to exquisite experience of Chandon and Green Point as well as a sumptuous dinner prepared by Third Floor Restaurant, JW Marriott Kuala Lumpur.

A Masterclass was also held earlier in the day.

Breitling’s first aviation party in Malaysia

5 November 2008, Kuala Lumpur: Breitling, a Swiss luxury timepiece brand that is synonymous with the world of aviation, together with Cortina Watch, Asia’s leading retailer of luxury timepieces, launched the new Breitling Chrono-matic 49 by staging its first ever “aviation” party in Malaysia on the evening of 5th November 2008 at Zeta Bar, Hilton Kuala Lumpur.

More than 180 guests and media graced the event and witnessed the unveiling of Breitling’s latest Chrono-matic 49, launched for the first time in Malaysia since it was introduced in BaselWorld 2008. It was a star-studded affair and an evening of sheer glamour.
