Application Tips

1) When writing in, make sure that the letter is addressed to BRANDTHINK, and not to any other agency.

2) Do not mass apply every ad agency or pr agency in town. Cater your application specifically for us.

3) Do your research.

4) Write well.

5) Show that you can follow instructions. The most important instruction is to write to us. Do not call. Do not show up unannounced.

6) There must be a better way to apply for a job than sending a word document. If you are creative enough, you’ll find a better way. We’ll be impressed with that.

7) If you don’t hear from us, it means that your application is lost in the sea of resumes. At that point, you can do one of two things: Give up. OR, you can improve and try again.

Agency of the Year, as voted by You

It took us by surprise.

The news first arrived in a rather simple email. Inside, a single word, “Congratulations”.

That email was from one of our biggest clients and without a hint what it was all about. But when we saw how we did in the inaugural Agency of the Year ranking done by A+M Magazine in Malaysia, our hearts were filled with emotions of gratitude. For years, we’ve believed in work that works. And this year, you – our clients – have handed us a thumbs up. Thank you!

What’s this Agency of the Year thing? Well, it’s a annual survey among client marketers in various organizations to rank the agencies based on who they would most likely work with. The survey participants include CEOs, MDs, Directors and Marketing Managers. The rankings consist of a Top 10, as well as a “Local Hero” accolade going to a local agency with the highest votes.

HotelClub checks-in with BRANDTHINK™

BRANDTHINK Events & Activation starts with a bang!

BRANDTHINK Malaysia has launched an events and activation unit in an effort to keep pace with clients’ changing demands in the market.

The new unit will complete the BRANDTHINK marketing communications services portfolio and give clients additional options to reach their target market. Previously, event management was handled by the public relations team, but requests by clients to have more events and activation-based marketing activities allowed BRANDTHINK to offer it as a formal unit within its group. The unit will first tap into BRANDTHINK’s current client base that includes Breitling, Cortina Watch, Vertu, Max Mara, Caran d’Ache and STARTV, but are currently aggressively approaching fast-moving consumer companies as well.

“BRANDTHINK has been known to deliver great ideas in reaching the affluent customer. With our new Events & Activation unit, we will enhance our ability to assist our clients in engaging customers in a more direct and personal manner.” said Jui Hong Teoh, Managing Director of BRANDTHINK Malaysia. “Our clients will now have a single agency capable of tapping into their customers’ multiple touch-points.”

mass affluent in Malaysia numbered 242,200 households in 2005

According to a Jan 24 Bernama story — The biggest discretionary expenditure by wealthy Malaysians are on dining and spending, that’s according to Dr Yuwa Hedrick-Wong, economic advisor (Asia-Pacific), MasterCard Worldwide.

What’s interesting is that in the same article, there’s some numbers on mass affluent household in Malaysia:
He said the mass affluent in Malaysia numbered 242,200 households in 2005 with total income of US$14.4 billion, or an average US$59,400, per household, and this was expected to increase to 559,200 households with income of US$35.4 billion, or US$63,300, per household based on assumption of a real gross domestic product growth of 5.5 percent annually.
